Dennis L. Andres, age 73 of Ridott, IL, passed away at home on Thursday, July 25, 2019. He was born January 10, 1946; the son of the late Lawrence and Edna Mae (Hanford) Andres. Dennis married Rita Mae Diestelmeier on February, 8, 1969; she passed on August 31, 2015.

He had worked for MicroSwitch in Freeport for 42 years. In the 70's & 80's his hobby was drag racing. He also coached his sons little league baseball for 3 years. Dennis was a member of the Eagles Club and was a lifetime member of the Indian Bowman Archery Club. He loved hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed taking care of his lawn and tending to his garden. Dennis was always active and was talented working with his hands, especially with auto mechanics.

He is survived by his son, Marty (Amanda Scharrenberg) Andres of Rockford; daughter, Stacey (Edward) Stucke of Rockford; grandson, Edward Stucke; brother, Jerry (Ginny) Andres of Redmond, OR; brother-in-law, Eugene (Jody) Diestelmeier of Elroy, IL; sisters-in-law, Sandra Reed of Lena, IL and Judy Diestelmeier of Freeport. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 2 ^nd at 3:00 p.m. at Walker Mortuary in Freeport. There will be a visitation before the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport.
