Freeport

Dennis L. Cummins, 63, of Freeport, died Sunday, May 17, 2015, at his home, after a short battle with cancer.

Born September 2, 1951 in Freeport he was the son of Lyle and Jane (Kubtzke) Cummins. He married Lynn A. Walker April 14, 1973.

Denny had retired from Honeywell after 42 years.

He was a member of Crossroads Community Church where he enjoyed greeting people Sunday mornings and volunteering during the week.

Denny enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, hiking and camping. His travels took him many places but one of his favorites was Governor Dodge State Park in Dodgeville, WI where he was a campground host the last two years.

Surviving are his wife, Lynn of Freeport; his children, Jenny (Tim) Schneiderman and Tammy (Steve) Stadermann both of Freeport, Molly (Luke) Jenkins of Poughkeepsie, New York; 2 grandsons, Will and Chris Schneiderman of Freeport; his sister, Sue (Bill) Pick of Monroe, Wisconsin; his brothers, Randy (Mary) Cummins, Cal (Janet) Cummins, and Jay (Shelia) Cummins all of Freeport; his step-mother, Marilyn Cummins of Freeport; his mother-in-law, Bethel Walker of Dakota; sisters-in-laws, Sharon Walker of Elmhurst, Il and Gayle (Frank) Clark of Lancaster, WI, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and father-in-law, Homer Walker.

Cremation rites have been accorded.
