IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dennis E.
Leverton
July 29, 1966 – February 11, 2025
Freeport – Dennis Eugene Leverton, 58, formerly of Orangeville passed away unexpectedly at his home in Freeport on February 11, 2025. He was born in Monroe, WI on July 29, 1966, to Duaine and Diane (Losey) Leverton. He graduated from Orangeville High School and achieved his associate degree from Highland Community College. He and Jennifer "Jena" Hofer were married on December 29, 1990, and together they built a life and family. He worked for FHN in the maintenance department and previously Anchor Harvey for over 20 years.
Dennis was the ultimate family man who was selfless, patient, kind, lighthearted, witty, charismatic, goofy, creative in his storytelling, hardworking, a handyman, teacher and coach at heart.
He was known to be the most easygoing, supportive dad, papa and husband, always putting his family first and spending as much time with them as possible. He was a passionate fisherman but was just as happy watching others catch fish. He had never met anyone that he couldn't have a conversation with, and he did that any chance he got. He was intrigued by others, hearing their stories and offering an ear and words of wisdom. Other interests included spending time at the farm/cabin playing with his grandsons, camping, 70's rock, playing Euchre and cribbage, watching Hallmark movies, Nascar, the Seattle Seahawks, Wisconsin Badgers and the Chicago Cubs. He was happiest with a Code Red in hand and a bowl of candy by his side.
He is survived by his wife, Jena of Freeport; his daughters, Megan Leverton of Monroe, WI and Brittany (Blake) Shumaker of Winslow; his Mother Diane Cooper of Orangeville and Father, Duaine Leverton of Orangeville; Sister, Dawn (Robin) Brinkmeier of Orangeville; Brother, David (Scarlet) Leverton of Davis.
His legacy also includes his grandsons, Brantley and Barret Shumaker of Winslow; Nephews, Chris Brinkmeier of Orangeville; Chance Hofer of Blanchardville, WI; Nieces Danielle Brinkmeier of Cedarville, MI, Tamsy Leverton of Rockford, and Teegan Leverton of Freeport; Mother-in-law, Mary Sigafus of Blanchardville, WI; Brother-in-law, Phil Hofer of Blanchardville and his grandpup, Chief Charles.
According to his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded, and a celebration of life will be set for a later date. Condolences can be left for the family at www.walkermortuary.com
