Baileyville
Dennis W. Meyer, 64, of Baileyville, died Thursday, January 12, 2012, at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born November 14, 1947 in Freeport he was the son of Harold and Alice (Dikkers) Meyer. He married Carla Fluechtling February 26, 1972.
Dennis was a long time school bus driver for the Forrestville Valley District.
Dennis was a member of St. John United Church of Christ and an Alumni of Forreston FFA. He served the U.S. Army Reserves from 1970 to 1975.
Surviving are his wife, Carla; his father, Harold both of Baileyville; 2 sons, Carl (Angie) Meyer of Stillman Valley and Randy (Vanessa) Meyer of Genoa; 2 sisters, Carol (Larry) Coy of Freeport and Judi Kemper of Glendale, Arizona; 2 brothers, Robert (Sue) Meyer of Pearl City and Jerry Meyer of Baileyville; 2 grandchildren, Lucas and Matthew Meyer of Stillman Valley.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and his infant sister, Karen.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2012, at St. John United Church of Christ with Reverend Dr. Donnley Dutcher officiating.
There will be a gathering for family and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2012 and on Saturday, January 21, 2012, 9 a.m. until time of service at St. John United Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
