Diana L. Wirtjes, 59, of Freeport, died Tuesday, April 5, 2011, peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Born May 17, 1951 in Freeport she was the daughter of Harold and Rosemary (Meile) Wirtjes.
She worked at Honeywell in Freeport for 38 years.
Diana was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was an avid race car fan.
Surviving are three daughters, Angela Friend of Palmetto, Florida, Kellie Siegner and Michelle Downton both of Freeport; her son, Billy Siegner of Freeport; 1 brother, Harold (Penny) Wirtjes of Machesney Park; 4 grandchildren, Kaylie, Noah, Kyle, and Carson; 1 step daughter, Kelly (Amari) Latta of Freeport; 3 step grandchildren, Ashlie, Ericka, and Isaiah; 2 step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 9, 2011 from 12 noon until 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Oakland Cemetery & Mausoleum.
Private funeral services will be held.
A memorial has been established for Cystic Fibrosis Research, 6931 Arlington Road, Bethesda, MD 20814
