Dixie L. Diddens, 74, of Freeport, died Wednesday, December 24, 2008, at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born July 15, 1934 in Freeport she was the daughter of Chester and Florence (Bolender) Marcum. She married Wayne E. Diddens Sr. May 2, 1954.
Dixie worked at Micro Switch for 30 years.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Surviving is her husband, Wayne Sr. of Freeport; 2 daughters, Karen G. Kryder of Lena and Peggy J. (John) Rundall of Freeport; 1 son, Wayne E. Diddens Jr. of Freeport; 4 brothers, Melvin (Ardith) Marcum, Chester (Catherine) Marcum, Donald (Shirley) Marcum, and Kenneth (Linda) Marcum all of Freeport; 6 grandchildren, Nicholas Kryder and Joseph Kryder both of Normal, Benjamin Kryder of Lena, Caitlin Kryder of Macomb, Ssgt. Jeremy (Catherine) Rundall of Sumter, S.C., and Courtney (Micah) Wilson of Freeport; 5 great grandchildren, Chloe, Emma, Ryan, Jackson, and Joshua.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers.
Funeral service will be Tuesday 10:30 a.m. at Walker Mortuary with Reverend Julie Bunt of Trinity United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Monday 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
