Dolores V. "Dolly" Adkins, 80, of Freeport, died Monday November 27, 2006 at FHN Memorial Hospital following a short illness. Born April 4, 1926 in Cavalier, North Dakota, she was the daughter of Gordon Well and Marie Schweitzer Well. After graduating from high school, Dolly moved to Washington, D.C. in 1944, where she worked for the Office of War Information and the Department of Agriculture. Moving to Chicago in 1946, she worked for the Veterans Administration and the Illinois Central Railroad, where she met James R. Adkins. They were married January 6, 1953.
