Freeport-Dolores J. Blackiston, 76, of Freeport, died Thursday, June 15, 2006, at her home.
Born March 26, 1930 in Cedarville she was the daughter of John and Florence (Wienand) MacKenzie. She married Jack C. Blackiston August 12, 1950 and he died April 6, 1993.
She was a graduate of Orangeville High School.
Dolores was a longtime member of Second Presbyterian Church.
She worked 27 years for Micro Switch and was a member of the 25 year Club.
Surviving are her children, Kim Blackiston of Oceanside, CA. and Kelly Blackiston of Freeport; 5 grandchildren, Dawn (George) Lugo of Oceanside, CA, Brian Blackiston of Hawaii, Noah Bloyer and Sarah Bloyer both of Freeport, and Christopher Blackiston of Rome, Georgia; 3 great grandchildren, Nicholas and Zachary Lugo both of Oceanside, CA, and Taylor Waugh-Bloyer of Lief River ; 1 sister, Jacqueline (Alfred) Stewart of Freeport; 2 brothers, Bob (Rosie) MacKenzie of Cedarville and Ronald (Barb) MacKenzie of Freeport; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Shirley (Hank) Taft.
Funeral service will be Saturday 11 a.m. at Walker Mortuary with Reverend Janice Diefenthaler of Second Presbyterian Church officiating.
Visitation will be Saturday 10 a.m. until time of service at Walker Mortuary.
Following the service cremation rites will be accorded and her cremated remains will be buried in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
A memorial has been established in her name.
