Lena-Dolores LaMae Heilman, 81, of Lena, died Thursday, May 24, 2007, at the Lena Living Center.
Born July 25, 1925 in Orangeville, she was the daughter of Vernon and Mary (Clarno) Wohlford. She married William H. Fritzenmeier November 22, 1947.He died in May of 1968. She married Robert W. Heilman June 21, 1975.
Dolores graduated from Orangeville High School in 1943.
She worked at Moogks Drug Store, W.T. Rawleigh, and Micro Switch.
Her memberships included St. John United Church of Christ in Freeport where she was a former choir, Mary-Martha Circle, and Caregivers member, Lena Women's Club, Rock Run Home Extension, Scottish Rite Women's Club, and Operation Good Fellow.
Dolores enjoyed attending her grandchildrens' activities, volunteering for numerous charities, and was a pioneer of the Stephenson County Agriculture Breakfast.
Surviving are her husband, Robert of Lena; daughters, Diane (Cliff) Vowles of Rock City and Cindy (Dennis Freed) Fritzenmeier of Roanoke, Texas; sons, Mark (Pam) Fritzenmeier of Edelstein and Craig (Faye) Heilman of Lena; grandchildren, Brian Vowles of Rock City, Michele (Thomas) Hand of Geneva, Jennifer (Tony Cimino) Vowles of Grapevine, Texas, Melissa (Dean) Adamczyk of Joliet, Sarah and Jacob Freed of Roanoke, Texas, Monica, Sandra, Dustin and Ted Fritzenmeier of Edelstein, Ashley Heilman of Freeport, Austin and Brock Heilman of Lena; great grandson, Stephen Vowles of Grapevine, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Edith Wohlford and Shirley Fritzenmeier both of Freeport and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her parents and one brother, Delbert Wohlford.
Services will be Tuesday, 11 A.M. at St. John United Church of Christ with Reverend Dr. Donnley Dutcher of St. John United Church of Christ and Reverend Randal Nicholas of Lena Salem United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Monday, 4 to 7 P.M. at Walker Mortuary.
