Freeport: Dolores M. Meyers, 82 of Freeport, died Tuesday April 8, 2008 at her home.
Born January 15, 1926 in Freeport she was the daughter of Roy and Blanche (Wright) Bittner. On May 6, 1963 she married Edward Meyers in Freeport.
Dolores worked as a bookkeeper for Ihm Motor Sales for many years. Her memberships included Women's Auxiliaries for the American Legion in Texas and the Freeport Fraternal Order of Eagles..
Surviving are her husband, Edward of Freeport; 1 daughter Cindy (Daryl) Wilson of Freeport; 1 son William "Bill" Higgs of Freeport; 2 stepsons, Edward Meyers of Freeport and Steve (Teri) Meyers of Mt. Morris; 1 stepdaughter, Lori (Jim) Hartman of Freeport; 1 sister, Barbara (Kenneth) Johnson of Harlingen, TX; 1 brother, Conrad (Judi) Bittner of Freeport; 22 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother, Roy Bittner.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Walker Mortuary with the Reverend Don Jamerson of First Free Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport.
Visitation will be Friday from 4-7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for FHN Memorial Hospice.
