Obituary

Freeport-Donald V. Epping, 77, of Freeport, died Friday, September 7, 2007, at his home.
Born February 27, 1930 in Davenport, Iowa he was the son of Vincent and Florence (Harbsmeier) Epping. He married Gloria M. Vallarta June 28, 1953 in Freeport.
He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Don was a member of First Church of the Open Bible.
He worked at Micro Switch for almost 40 years.
He loved his family and had a passion for Fish Lake in Sauk City, Wisconsin where he and his family enjoyed summers.
Surviving is his wife, Gloria of Freeport; one son, Steven D. (Lynn) Epping of Freeport; one daughter, Sandra L. Epping of Chicago; 4 grandchildren, Shane Epping of Madison, Wisconsin, Andrea (Kenney) Schrock of Freeport, Melissa Epping of Freeport, and Rachel (Andrew) Pickens of Arlington Heights; one brother, Merlin (Jean) Epping of Freeport; 2 sisters, Arlyne Jones of Freeport and Joan (Allen) Bear of Orangeville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Lois Siegmeier and Evelyn Tegl.
Funeral service will be Monday 2 p.m. at First Church of the Open Bible Church with Reverend Dr. Burliss Parker officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Sunday 4 to 7 p.m. at First Church of the Open Bible.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for the First Church of the Open Bible.
