Donald E. Maves, 83, of Freeport, died Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born October 24, 1928 in Freeport he was the son of Louis and Mary (Dyson) Maves. He married Virginia Keister June 16, 1951.
Don was a graduate of Freeport High School and a U.S. Air Force Veteran.
Don was a well-known local Dry Cleaner.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia of Freeport; 2 sons, Gary Maves of Apache junction, AZ and Terry Maves of Henderson, NV; 4 grandchildren, Scott (Erma) Maves of Mahomet, Kevin (Katrina) Maves, Richard Maves, and Katelynn Maves all of Henderson, NV; 3 great grandchildren, Nathaniel & Coleman Maves of Mahomet, and Hunter Maves of Henderson, NV; 1 brother, Delbert "Mike" (Pat) Maves of Freeport; 3 sisters, Dolores Brown of Spokane, WA, Norma (Mel) Lafferty of Freeport, and Betty (Roger) Morse of Winnetka, CA; and 1 sister in-law, Betty Maves of Freeport.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Raymond (Moe) Maves and Robert Maves; and 1 sister, Carol (Richard) Sigafus.
Per Don's request cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no funeral service.
A memorial has been established in his name.
