Freeport: Donald O. Miller, 81, of Freeport died Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at his home. Born August 13, 1926 in Freeport he was the son of LaVerne O. and Margaret (Groshans) Miller. On September 10, 1947 he married Maxine R. Kochsmeier. Don was a Freeport Fireman for 27 years retiring in 1983. He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, the Freeport Elks Lodge, Freeport V.F.W, and he was a veteran of WWII. Surviving are his wife Maxine, one daughter, Susan (Michael) Feagan of Freeport; two sons, Craig A. Miller of McFarland, WI and Kurt D. (Susan) Miller of London England; One Brother, Robert (Mary) Miller of Freeport, and four Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2007 at St. John United Church of Christ, Freeport. with the Reverend Dr. Donnley Dutcher officiating. There will be no visitation. A memorial has been established in his name.
