Donald L. Woodruff, 82, Freeport, IL, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2024. He was born Dec.  1,1941in Wichita Falls, Texas to Charles J. and Evelyn E. (Nolen) Woodruff. He was a 1959 graduate of Dakota High School and attended Platteville College. He married Jean M. Kerchner on Feb.  24, 1968. He was employed by Micro Switch in Freeport for 37 years before retiring in 1999.  Don enjoyed  racing his car at Byron, snowmobiling both on snow and grass, motorcycling, tractor pulling his Minneapolis Moline, flying his Cessna 140, boating on the Mississippi, four wheeling, amateur radios and his latest prize, a 2017 Mustang GT.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jean. His sisters, Mary Woodruff,  Barbara (Mark) LaBudde, and brother, Gary Woodruff. Don was preceded in death by his parents.

According to his wishes, there will be no services following cremation.  Condolences can be shared here with his family.
