Freeport – Donna J. Spangler, 73 of Freeport passed away on April 28 ^th , 2023 at St. Joseph's Rehabilitation Center. Donna was born, September 14, 1949 the daughter of Alvin and Marie (Buntjer) Frey. She married Robert (Bones) Spangler on December 16, 1971. Donna worked at Sears until the store's closing and was employed by Freeport Hospital until her retirement. She enjoyed her grandchildren, watching the Chicago Cubs, doing word puzzles, playing slots and spending time with her husband at their place along the Pecatonica River.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; a son, Joel (Shani) Spangler of Monroe, WI; a sister, Darlene (Ken) Baldauf of Pearl City, 2 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Janis Tischer and Judy Veach, brother-in-law, Louis Veach and her in-laws. Private family services are being held.
