Freeport-Doris J. Beirau, 93, a resident of Medina Nursing Center in Durand, formerly of Freeport, died Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at Medina.
Born January 19, 1911 in Freeport she was the daughter of Otto and Johanna (Fechter) Beirau.
She was a legal secretary for Furst McNess for 47 years retiring in 1976. After retirement she worked for the United Way.
Doris was a lifetime member of St. John United Church of Christ. She was a volunteer for the FHN Memorial Hospital.
Surviving is one nephew, Rodney (Gloria) Genant of Gilbert, Arizona; five nieces, Jackie (James) Herron of Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania, Wendy (Dwayne) Dummer of Cameron, Wisconsin, Holly Genant of Freeport, Carol (Bob) Kolthoff of Machesney Park, and Cindy Becke of Orangeville; several great nieces and nephews.
Her parents; 1 brother, Bernard Beirau; 3 sisters, Martha Binkley, Erna Immig, and Alfreida Genant; 1 niece, Margie Luecke preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be Tuesday 11 a.m. at St. John United Church of Christ with Reverend Donnley Dutcher officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery & Mausoleum.
Visitation will be Monday 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
A memorial has been established for St. John United Church of Christ.
