Obituary

Doris J. Wubbena, 70, of Freeport, died Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born May 3, 1938 in Freeport she was the daughter of Daniel and Pearl (Huntzberry) Garber. She married Irvin S. Wubbena November 26, 1960 at the West Branch Church of the Brethren in Polo.
She was a 1956 graduate of Polo High School and attended Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.
Doris worked at the Polo Cleaners; she was an advertising secretary at Watt Publishing in Mt. Morris for 4 years, and for15 years she was a rural route driver for the Freeport Advertiser.
She was a member of the West Branch Church of the Brethren and attended Baileyville Reformed Church where she had been a Sunday School Teacher.
Doris enjoyed reading, listening to the radio, and going to the movies.
Surviving is her husband, Irvin; 1 daughter, Trudy (John) Moore; 2 grandchildren, Daniel (fiancée Stacey Phillips) Moore and Alex Moore all of Freeport; 1 brother, James Garber of Haldane.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service and entombment will be Tuesday 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Oakland Cemetery & Mausoleum.
Visitation will be Tuesday 12 noon until time of service at the Chapel of Peace.
A memorial has been established in her name.
