Doris J. Zettle, age 83 of Freeport, IL, passed away at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport on Saturday, December 28, 2024. She was born June 17, 1941 in Detroit, MI; the daughter of the late A.C. and Germaine (Benoit) Moss. She married Earl Zettle; he passed away on July 22, 2000.

Doris retired from MicroSwitch. She enjoyed angels, purses, reading books, crocheting and knitting. Her happy time was when she dog sat everyday and watched Hallmark.

She is survived by her sister, Dolores (Paul) Carpenter; several beloved nieces, Paula (Louri) Oumanski and Brita (Eric) Saxby; nephew, Eric Carpenter; several great nieces & nephews; special friends, Tim Dorsey, Pearl Dorsey, Karrol Tipton; and special dogs, Pearl, Lilly, Salem, and Camo. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Earl Zettle.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A private burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Condolences may be shared at www.walkermortuary.com.
