Freeport-Dorothy Ella (Julius) Fischer, 95, of Freeport, died Sunday, November 6, 2005 at FHN Memorial Hospital after spending a quiet time with her family.
Born October 6, 1910 in Freeport she was the daughter of Simon and Minnie (Karstedt) Julius. She married Siefert H. Fischer May 31, 1933 in Iowa. She and her husband farmed in the Freeport area for many years until retiring in 1958. He died August 7, 1991.
Dorothy loved baking, fishing, traveling, sewing, crafts and putting puzzles together. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Surviving is her daughter, Doris (Keith) Kness of Kent; her son, LeRoy (Helen) Fischer of Freeport; 8 grandchildren, Steven (Cathie) Kness, Rodney (Martha) Kness, Jeffrey (Amy) Kness, Kathy (Gregory) Andrews, Todd (Julie) Fischer, Robert (Pam) Fischer, Debbie (Kevin) Tinsley, Karen (Charles Poaha) Kness; 18 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; one brother Floyd (Irene) Julius of Lena, one sister in law Grace Julius of Freeport; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 7brothers and 4 sisters.
Funeral service will be Wednesday 12 noon at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Reverend Willis Schwichtenberg and Vicar David Daniel officiating. Burial will be in the City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:30 am Wednesday until the time of the service at the church.
A memorial has been established in her name for Immanuel Lutheran Church.
