Rockford-Dorothy M. Kohn, 75, of Rockford, died Saturday, May 28, 2005, at her home.
Born December 12, 1929 in Freeport she was the daughter of Oscar and Minnie (Moran) Schlegel. She married LaVerne I Kohn on June 12, 1949 and he died July 1, 1990.
She worked for Micro Switch in Freeport for many years and then after retirement she worked at different retail stores in Rockford.
She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Freeport for over 50 years.
She enjoyed a great love for her family and friends, especially her great grandchildren.
Surviving is her daughter, Melody (Bruce) Wiegert of Rockford; her sister, Ethel J. Kerr of Freeport; grandchildren, Andrew (Amy) Wiegert of Rockford and Harmony (Cory) Thornton of Belvidere; great grandchildren, Abigail Marie and Aiden Joseph Wiegert of Rockford.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Harold Schlegel; and her great granddaughter, Allison Thornton.
Funeral service will be Wednesday 11 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church with Reverend Douglas Q. Bowden officiating.
Visitation will be Wednesday 10 a.m. until time of service at the Church.
A memorial has been established in her name.
Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens
