Dorothy Marie Kuhn Bloyer was born on January 11 th 1926 to parents Ruth Eli Kuhn and Frank E.Kuhn at the home of her grandparents Elizabeth and Bert Kuhn at 609 S. Harlem Ave. Freeport. She attended Lincoln El. School and graduated from Freeport senior high on June 8 th 1944.
During her senior year went to school mornings then worked at Burgess Battery afternoons. She was one of the girls that served coffee and donuts to the GIs going through Freeport on troop trains during WW11.
She was employed at Montgomery Ward's and Meyer's Ford briefly then 25 years at the state employment office, retiring at 62. She was also an Avon Lady for 31 years.
She was married to Jack Bloyer for 25 years then divorced. They had two children Melody Bloyer Farringer and Kim Bloyer. Grand children Joe Farringer Frpt, Ben Farringer Frpt.,Nathan Farringer Vietnam ,Maggie Hooper, Jacob Hooper and great granddaughters Etta Rose Hooper and An Di Melody. She had been a friend of Bill W. for over 30 yrs. She lost her traveling and dancing partner Laurence (Larry) Mcpeek in 2016 he was sorely missed. They were together for 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her sister Marion Ginn and nephew Bobby Ginn.
She loved dancing , travelling and talking with everyone. She visited most of the U.S. and many European countries.
There will be a Celebration of Life Friday Aug 26 th at the Freeport Public Library from 2 to 5 pm in the meeting room.
