Dorothy A. Schaffer, 93, of Freeport, died Sunday, November 4, 2012, at Stephenson Nursing Center.
Born February 27, 1919 in Cherokee, IA she was the daughter of Emory and Edna (Mellot) Howard. She married Daniel Schaffer June 20, 1936 in Elkton, SD. He died April 10, 2009.
Dorothy was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Freeport.
Surviving is her daughter, Grace (Gary) Mohr of Freeport; her son-in-law, Earnest (Della) Clark of Tyler, TX; 5 grandchildren including local resident, Stacey (Doug) Dach; 11 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Dolores (Dee) Clark; 2 sisters; and 1 brother.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2012 at Our Savior Lutheran Church.
Visitation will be Friday 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Hot Springs, SD.
A memorial has been established for Our Savior Lutheran Church.
