Freeport-Dorothy E. Wagenknecht, 87, of Freeport, died Saturday, April 30, 2005 at Provena St. Joseph Nursing Center.
Born July 16, 1917 in Rockfalls she was the daughter of Ralph and Iva (Beck) Brown. She married Paul L. Wagenknecht July 17, 1935 and he died February 16, 1983.
Dorothy worked at Structo Manufacturing for 20 years.
Surviving are 6 sons, Raymond Wagenknecht of San Jose, CA, Kenneth (LaVonne) Wagenknecht and Jim (Charyl) Wagenknecht both of Freeport, Donald (Carrie) Wagenknecht of Oklahoma, Robert (Nanhee) Wagenknecht of Tracy, CA, Roger Wagenknecht of Winnebago; 5 daughters, Shirley (Stanley) Whitehead of Freeport, Sharon Loring and Sally (James) Bardell both of Cedarville, Sherry (Kenneth) Goss of Michigan, Sue (Leonard) Abraham of Texas; 2 sisters, Ruth Mickley of Prophetstown and Marge (Art) Wetzel of Tampico, 1 brother, John (Eleanor) Brown of Tampico; 37 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 1 son; 1 sister.
Funeral service will be Wednesday 10:30 a.m. at Walker Mortuary with Reverend Willis Schwichtenberg of Immanuel Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Tuesday 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
