Forth Worth, Texas- Dorothy J. Wohlford, 83, of Forth Worth, formerly of Freeport, died Saturday, November 13, 2004 at Baylor All Saints Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
Born March 22, 1921 in Freeport she was the daughter of Floyd and Alice (Rockow) Snyder. Dorothy grew up on a farm on Henderson Rd. and attended Freeport High School graduating with the class of 1940, she married Willard Wohlford March 9, 1947. She was a secretary for 13 years at Bankers Mutual Life in Freeport and for 17 years at Bank of Commerce in Fort Worth, Texas. Dorothy's joys in life were her church, attending Embury United Methodist Church in Freeport and First United Methodist Church in Fort Worth, TX along with traveling, reading, her competitive spirit at the bridge table and visiting her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are two sons, Gregory (Francine) Wohlford of Bloomington, IL and Dean (Reverend Becky Hebert) Wohlford of Norman, OK; two granddaughters, one grandson, three great grandsons and twin great grand daughters. Her parents and 1 brother, Martin Snyder preceded her in death. There will be a celebration of her life Friday 11:30 a.m. at Walker Mortuary, Freeport, IL with Reverend D. Robin Benson of Embury United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be Friday 10 a.m. until time of service at Walker Mortuary, Freeport, IL. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Freeport, IL. Considering her joys in life a memorial fund has been established in her name for the Freeport Public Library.
