Douglas D. Edler, 64, of Cedarville died Monday January 2, 2012 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. Born March 17, 1947 in Freeport he was the son of Harold and Lois (Pabst) Edler. On January 18, 1967 he and Helen Eggemeier were united in marriage in Davis. Doug was a lifelong farmer in the Stephenson County area. He enjoyed reading tractor books in his spare time. Surviving are his wife Helen of Cedarville, one daughter Lisa (Tom) Lawson of Pearl City; three sons Dave (Renee) Edler of Dakota, Danny Edler of Freeport, Scott Edler of Freeport; daughter-in-law Julie Edler of Orangeville; 7 grandchildren; three brothers Denny (Mary) Edler of Shannon, Darius (Pat) Edler of Lena, Larry (Elaine) Edler of Forreston; one sister Linda Edler of Oregon. Preceding him in death were his parents.
