Duane Kay Cox, 78, of Cedarville went home to the Lord on April 15, 2014 while surrounded by her loving family. Born in Cedarville on February 8, 1936 she was the daughter of Grace (Bear) and Gerald Wagner. She was a 1954 graduate of Freeport High School. On April 6, 1958 she and Ronald Cox were united in marriage at Cedarville where they made their life and raised their family. She was a lifelong member of the Cedarville Emmanuel Congregational Free Church and worked for many years at the Stephenson County Health Department. Duane's strong faith guided her through life. She found great joy spending time with her two boys and their families. Nothing brought more happiness to Duane than being with her grandchildren. She was a wonderful woman who touched everyone with her love and friendship. Duane is survived by her two sons Geoffrey (Jennifer) of Stockton and Bradley (Dale) of Phoenix, AZ, brothers Gary and Fred Wagner. Her beloved grandchildren Abigail Lloyd, Wesley, Dillan, Logan, Kirsten Cox, and Fawn Hines. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ronald, and brother Burlyn Kriens. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Cedarville Emmanuel Church in Cedarville with Reverend Christopher Pope officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at church on Saturday. Burial of cremated remains will be at the Cedarville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in her name for the Cedarville Emmanuel Church.
