Freeport-Durwood E. "Skip" Weier, 62, of Freeport, died Wednesday, August 4, 2004, at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born June 4, 1942 in Freeport he was the son of Robert and Bertha (Krueger) Weier.
He graduated from Freeport Senior High School in 1961.
He married Geraldine M. Johnson in 1962 in Freeport.
He was a Bus Driver for the Pearl City School system and also worked for the Freeport Country Club.
An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed Deer hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are four daughters, Melissa (Jeff) Everson of Monroe, Wisconsin, Flora Weier of Rockford, Alice (Rick) Edwards of Stockton, and Nanette (Ray) Maher of Freeport. 2 sisters, Linda (Robert) Downing of Freeport and Karla Ritchey of Grayville; two brothers, Woody (Carol) Weier of Cedarville and David (Lavonne) Weier of Glenwood, Iowa; 8 grandchildren, Dustin Edwards, Justin Everson, Kimberlee Everson, Bill Edwards, Jordan Everson, Toryanna Rossi, Donovan Rossi, and Paige Haas.
His parents; 1 brother, Robert; and 1 sister, Alice preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be 7 p.m. Saturday at Walker Mortuary with Reverend Andrew Taylor of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call Saturday 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
