Dwayne A. Daniels, 88 of Freeport died Monday August 16, 2010 at Garden Court of Liberty Village Freeport. Born August 20, 1921 in Freeport he was the son of Orville and Esther (Sullens) Daniels. On September 20, 1952 he and Dorothy Jacobs were united in marriage, she preceded him in death in 2007. He worked for many years at Micro Switch and for Newell for 12 years retiring in the 1980's. Dwayne was a graduate of Freeport High School, Browns Business College and Chicago Art Institute. He was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church for more than 40 yrs, Lifetime member of Amvets and served in the U.S. Army in WWII. Surviving are three sons Wayne "Joe" Daniels of Springfield, Jay (Clarissa) Daniels of Huntsville, Alabama, Jon (Marlene) Daniels of Freeport; daughter Judy (Robert) Jacobs of Freeport; a brother John W. Daniels of Uriah, CA; 2 grandchildren Melissa and Crystal Daniels both of Freeport. Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, and brother Jim.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
