E. Lucille Barker, age 95 of Davis, IL, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital in Monroe, WI. She was born August 2, 1927 in Stockton, IL; the daughter of the late Roscoe and Edna (Endress) Calhoun. She was a 1945 graduate of Stockton High School. Lucille married Melvin G. Lemanski in 1954. She later married Albert Barker on July 30, 1969; he passed March 22, 2023.

In her younger years, she was a teacher at a one room country school house in the Willow area. She later opened Lucille's Soda Shop in downtown Stockton. In later years, she worked as a bookkeeper for the Freeport Clinic, Union Savings Bank, and then in business with her husband Al at Al Barker Digging and Excavating.

Lucille enjoyed playing cards, especially rummy. She liked to knit and crochet, making several afghan blankets. Lucille and Al loved riding their trike and traveling together, taking trips all over the United States and spending winters at their home in Arizona. She especially loved to spend time with her grandkids and great grandkids.

She is survived by her children, James Lemanski of Freeport, Nancy (George Lazarus) Jackson of Platteville, WI, and Brad (Jill Jacobs) Lemanski of Rock City, IL; grandchildren, Suzanne (Shawn) McGLynn, Alicia (Jake) Young, and Phillip Jackson; and great grandchildren: Colton, Aspen, & Autumn McGlynn; Tyler & Logan Penticoff; and Maxwell & Drake Young. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert Barker; sisters, Wynetta Leitzen and Lola Gerbick; brothers, Eldon, Kenneth, and Elwyn Calhoun; and infant brother George Calhoun.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Walker Mortuary in Freeport with a visitation before the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. Condolences may be shared at www.walkermortuary.com.
