Freeport – Edith M. Rosenstiel, 92 of Freeport passed away at Parkview Home on May 17 ^th , 2022.  She was born on June 28, 1929 in Rock City, Il to the late Otto and Edith (Toelke) Grunder.  She and Wilbur "Mike" Rosenstiel were married on November 19, 1950 and together they raised a family. Through the years, she worked at Burgess Battery, Micro Switch Honeywell and the Freeport School District.

She lived a life of service with many hours given to organizations such as Meals on Wheels delivering meals to the elderly alongside her husband, Mike.  She also volunteered at St. John United Church of Christ, FHN Memorial Hospital and FACC.

Surviving her are her daughter, Linda (Gary) Vandre of Mahomet, IL; her son, Terry (Kathi) Rosenstiel of Vernon Hills, IL.  Her sisters, Helen (Richard) Schneeberger of Davis, Clara Gill of Rock Grove, IL, and Dorothy Kreger of Freeport; Her brother, Charles (Deborah) Grunder of Clarmont, FL and her sister-in-law, Carol Grunder of Lincoln, IL.

Her legacy also includes grandchildren Brian (Heather) Vandre of Champaign, IL; Kaitlin Rosenstiel (Tim) Roberts of Chicago and Mike (Amy) Vandre of Mahomet, IL along with her great grandchildren Kennedie Ireland, Marin Vandre, Bailey Vandre and Hudson Roberts.

Preceding her in death are her Parents, her husband, her sisters, Marie Johnson, Bertha Keister, Judith Strong and Julia Grunder; Her brothers Ben Grunder and Otto Grunder Jr.

There will be a visitation at St. John United Church of Christ on Monday, May 23 ^rd , 2022 beginning at 9am – 11am.  There will be a service immediately following at 11am also at St. John UCC.  Her final resting place will be at Oakland Cemetery next to Mike.
