Ridott – Edward J. "Scott" La Plante, 85 of Ridott passed away at Presence St. Joseph in Freeport. He was born May 16 ^th , 1935 in Lawrence, MA to Henry and Isabelle (Ramsey) LaPlante.  He went to Hudson College following High School. He became an accountant he and was a Veteran of the Navy during the Korean conflict. He loved to travel and saw many parts of the world along the way.

He was a member of the American Legion, the VFW, the AM Vets, and the Moose lodge. He was also a past President of the Village of Ridott and past Commander of the Pecatonica American Legion as well as the Freeport VFW.  He was part owner of a hardware store in Rockford at Northtown Mall.

He is survived by his lifetime friend, Harold Neuberger of Ridott and his sisters, Mary Ann Couture of MA and Lorraine Patnaude of FL.

He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Cremation rites were accorded.
