Edward F. Stubbe, age 74 of Pearl City, IL, passed away at home on Saturday, February 25, 2017. He was born July 1, 1942; the son of the late Lloyd and Josephine (Smeck) Stubbe. He married Karlynn Kohl on June 22, 1969.
He was a member of the Martintown Community Church in Martintown, WI. Edward joined the Army in 1964 and served in Vietnam. When he came home he served 20 years in the National Guard, as well as working at Honeywell, until he retired. His memberships also include the Green Iron Antique Tractor Club and the Boone County Antique Tractor Club. He collected and restored John Deere 110's. Edward enjoyed camping at the dells and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife, Karlynn Stubbe of Pearl City; sons, Edward Martin Stubbe of Cherry Valley, IL, Karl (Ronda) Martin of Pearl City, Steve (Kim) Martin of Pearl City, Patrick Stubbe of Pearl City and Rick Zumbragel of Cherry Valley; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Judy Sager; and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, David "Marty" Martin Stubbe; sister, Ina Vance Rowley; and brother-in-law, David Sager.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 2nd at 12:00 pm at Walker Mortuary in Freeport, IL. There will be a visitation before the service beginning at 10:00 am. A memorial fund has been established in his name.
