Edwin D. Levan, 87 of Stockton died Thursday October 25, 2012 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport. Born October 28, 1924 in Dixon he was the son of Arthur and Mabel (Becker) Levan. He was a graduate of Dixon High School and was a WWII veteran of the United States Army Air Corp. He and Olivette Krebs were united in marriage on September 10, 1949 at Forest Park, IL. He was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Lena, Stockton VFW and was part of the ELCA Mission Builders. Edwin was also served on the board of directors for the Stockton Fire Department. Surviving are his wife Olivette of Stockton, children Steve (Kathie) Levan of Stockton, Beverly (David) Shockey of Hebron, KY, Eileen (Greg) Lawfer of Stockton, Terry (Jane) Levan of Lexington, TX; 7 grandchildren Meghan, Drew, Ana, Erin, Kirsten, Heather and Carrie; 10 great grandchildren; three brothers Leroy (Doris) Levan of Itasca, Ken Levan of South Beloit and Gordon (Kathy) Levan of Chicago. Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters Ethel and Hazel. Cremation rites will be accorded.
