Eleanor K. "Norie" Wittbecker, 100, of Freeport, died Thursday February 12, 2009 at Stephenson Nursing Center.
Born November 29, 1908 in Freeport she was the daughter of Louis and Martha (Fernau) Wittbecker.
Eleanor was retired from the Newell Companies.
She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ.
Surviving are her daughter in-law, Rita Wittbecker of Freeport; 1 sister, Dorothy DeBoer of Freeport; 2 grandchildren, Rick Lee (Linda) Posey of German Valley and Karen (Craig) Schock of Pecatonica; 3 great grandchildren, Christopher (Crystal) Posey, Allison and Katherine Posey; 2 great great grandchildren, Miranda Lynn Posey and Alonna Kay Posey; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 son, Donald; 2 brothers; and 2 sisters.
Funeral service will be Monday 1:30 p.m. at Walker Mortuary. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery & Mausoleum.
Visitation will be Monday 12 noon until time of service.
A memorial has been established for Stephenson Nursing Center.
