Elizabeth "Snooks" Munz, 81 passed away at Presence St. Joseph's on Wednesday, December 5 ^th .  She was born on December 25, 1936 in Chadwick, IL to Frederick and Dora (Schreiner) Carley.  She graduated from Freeport High School in 1954.  She was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the WAC.  She married Herbert Munz January 25 ^th , 1969.  He died in June 1971.  She retired from Micro Switch Honeywell. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene of Freeport.  She loved greeting at church on Sundays.

Snooks enjoyed being with her family. She also loved playing Bingo. People that knew her enjoyed her love of life. She was also an avid lover of George Jones music.

She is survived by 5 children including her daughter, Dawn Wenger of Freeport, Danette (Nick) Fulton of Chicago, Tonia Munz of Rockford, Todd Munz of Rockford, and Terry Munz of Freeport.  Sisters, Joyce Bloyer of Freeport and Arliss Pantell of Michigan; Brothers Frederick Carley Jr. of North Carolina and Delbert Carley of McConnell, IL.  She has 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Arlene Bocker, half- brothers, Frances and Billy Laplain and her Great Granddaughter, Ja'Leigha.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 8 ^th from 10am – 12pm at Walker Mortuary with Apostle Michael Sowell officiating. Services will be at 12pm following the visitation also on Saturday, Dec 8 ^th at Walker Mortuary.  Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
