Elizabeth G. Shippy-Sigafus , age 91 of Pecatonica, IL, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, IL. She was born July 28, 1928 in Rock City, IL; the daughter of Christiaan and Florence (Wolf) Byl. She married Robert Shippy on April 12, 1947; he passed in 1984. She later married Verald Sigafus on November 27, 1991; he passed on May 19, 2005.

Elizabeth was very talented at cooking and baking. She loved her gardening and her cat, Aleah. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son, Perry Shippy of Pecatonica; daughters, Nancy (Randy) Kleindl of Davis, IL, Norine (Robert) Ehrler of Freeport, and Tammy (Eric) Sager of Lena, IL; 8 grandchildren, Faith (Kevin) Lincicum, Matthew Lestikow, Brian (Cindy) Kleindl, Chuck (Melissa) Manske, Miranda (Dave) Schulenberg, Dallas (Amanda) Shippy, Stacey Sager, and Scarlett Sager; 12 great grandchildren, Quinn Lincicum, Aidan Lincicum, Owen Lincicum, Peggy Lestikow, Christopher Lestikow, Sarah (Aaron) Hauri, Nikki Manske, Natalie Manske, Mason Schulenberg, Valerie Schulenberg, Kylie Shippy, and Natalie Shippy; son-in-law, Russell Lestikow; brother, Lyle Byl; and sisters, Mary (Everette) Mitchell, Imogene Pieper, and Lucy Runte. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; daughter, Norma Lestikow; brothers, Christiaan "George" Byl, Jr. and Mervin Byl; and half-brother, Russell Wolf.

The funeral service will take place on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at 11:00 am at Walker Mortuary in Freeport with a visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
