Ellen E. Sager, 89 of Freeport, IL, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport. She was born in Freeport on December 11, 1933 to Oney "Frank" and Nora (Kluck) Leiby. Ellen married Harold Sager on December 29, 1951. They celebrated 48 years of marriage. Her greatest joy in life was her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Karen Glasgow and Cindy (Wally) Shenberger; daughter-in-law, Judith Sager; grandchildren, Joseph Glasgow, Patty (Rooster) Shenberger-O'Connell, and David Sager Jr.; great grandchildren: caregiver, Raelyn (Josh Keister); Jace & Cadeyn Glasgow; Hunter (Korrie Harnish), Bryce, Whitney, & Peyton Shenberger; Owen, Griffin, & Brea Sager; great great granddaughter, Jade Keister; and several nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; sons, David and Randy; son-in-law, Perry Glasgow; grandsons, James Glasgow and Thomas Shenberger; 5 brothers; 3 sisters; and many other family members.

Ellen's family is especially grateful to her caregivers, her daughters and great granddaughter, Raelyn.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Walker Mortuary in Freeport, IL. There will be a visitation before the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Family and friends are encouraged to dress casual for the services. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name. Condolences may be shared at www.walkermortuary.com.
