Elsie M. Klever, 90, of Freeport, a former Davis resident for 43 years passed away Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Presence St. Joseph Center in Freeport. She was born June 18, 1924 in Silver Creek Township, the daughter of Frank and Ella (Schleich) Klever. On August 18, 1941 she married Clair "Chub" Klever in Shelbyville, MO, he preceded her in death on January 17, 1984. Elsie was employed at Burgess Battery, Newell and retired from Micro Switch in Freeport. She was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ and was active in the Fidellia Circle. A lifetime member of Stephenson County Antique Engine Club, and the Senior Center especially with the dancercise group. Surviving are one son, Jerry (Kay) Klever of Freeport; one daughter-in-law Cheryl Klever of Riverton; four granddaughters, Shannon (Dan) Coit of Springfield, Heather (Andre) Mora of Ft. Hood, TX, Sherri (Ryan) Bordner of Riverton and Erica (Bill) Maberry of Springfield; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Marie Ackerman of Freeport; and many nieces and nephews.
Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Michael; and sister, Myrtle Moss.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 14, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, Dakota. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 15, 2014 at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her name.
Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport.
