Freeport-Elva L. Stouffer, 90, of Freeport, died Sunday, January 18, 2004, at FHN Memorial Hospital with her family at her side.
Born May 13, 1913 in Stephenson County she was the daughter of Gustav A. and Mabel (Miller) Lenz. She married William W. Stouffer July 27, 1940 in Manchester, Iowa. He died December 12, 1984 in Freeport.
She worked at Micro Switch for years 30 years, was a member of their Quarter Century Club, and retired in 1978.
She was a member of First Baptist Church for almost 70 years.
Surviving is three nieces, Dorothy Henderson of Freeport, Floreida (Martin) Lane of RPV, California, and Kathryn (Bart) Lockwood of Raytown, Missouri; two nephews, Donald (Dee) Lenz of Freeport and Robert (Peg) Lenz of Bloomington; several great nieces & great nephews; and her many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, LeRoy Lenz; one sister, Francis Huisinga; one niece, Dolores West.
Funeral services will be Thursday 1 p.m. at Walker Mortuary with Reverend Andrew Taylor of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call Wednesday 3 to 6 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for First Baptist Church.
