Freeport, IL - Emmanuel (Al) Elsworth "Heidenreich" Beidler, 70, passed away at his home surrounded by family on November 21, 2011. Born August 18, 1941 in Freeport, he was the son of Merle and Loretta (Beidler) Heidenreich. He and Karen Losey were united in marriage on July 27, 1965 in Alfokey. Al was an Auto Mechanic with JCPenney for 25 years. He owned and operated "Beidler's Truck and Auto Repair" at his Winneshiek home until his retirement in October of 2004. Al enjoyed fishing, camping, Bingo, yard work, telling jokes, playing guitar, singing, making people smile and, most of all, spending time with his family and friends. He was a Vietnam Army veteran and a lifetime member of the VFW. He was a devoted member at Cedarville Baptist Church who enjoyed being involved in many activities. He is survived by his wife Karen, of 46 years; three children, Michael (Jeannie) Beidler of Charlottesville, Virginia, William Beidler (Fiancé, Alyssa Saxby) of Oneco, Illinois and Kimberly (Kenneth) Nesemeier of Dakota, Illinois; one sister, Karen (Mike) Forrestor of Freeport; two brothers, Keith Heidenreich of Freeport and Steve (Susie) Heidenreich of Martinsburg, West Virginia; six grandchildren, Tanner, Geoffrey, and Madalyn Steffan, Cole Nesemeier, Joshua and Hailey Beidler; and many special nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Wesley Beidler, and two sisters Pat Wigmann and Wilma Briggs.
Visitation will be held on Friday November 25th, 2011, from 4-8pm at Cedarville Baptist Church.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, November 26th, 2011 at 10am, at Cedarville Baptist Church. Following the funeral service cremation rites will be accorded.
A memorial fund has been established.
