Rock City – Eric W. Beckmeier, 55 of Rock City passed away on January 11, 2025 at UW Madison, WI after a brief illness.  Born, April 5, 1969 in Rockford, Illinois to Wayne and Karen (Nyman) Beckmeier.  He graduated from Dakota High School in 1987.  He married Karlene Williams-Bolen on December 11, 2004 and together they built a life of love and laughter.

Eric was a proud farmer at heart and had a real passion for milking cows daily at Graybill farms.  He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and caring for baby animals of any species.  Gardening with Colin was a favorite past-time as well as playing with his dogs. He also enjoyed having pool, ice cream, and pie parties with his family. Being a grandpa was the achievement he cherished most.

Eric is survived by his wife Karlene; Children Kendra (Jake) Anderson of Alpha, IL and Kyle (Laura) Bolen of Janesville, WI; Grandchildren Colin Anderson, Cecily Anderson, and Ella Bolen; Sister Ingrid (Mike) Noone of Midwest City, OK; Brothers Marcus (Karla) Beckmeier of Freeport, IL, and Aaron (Heather) Beckmeier of German Valley, IL; Father-in-law Kenneth Williams of Lena, IL; Brother-in-laws Jeff Williams of Shullsburg, WI and Greg (Mary) Williams of Freeport, IL; Sister-in-law Stacey (Brian) Evert of Sauk City, WI; Aunt Shirley (Scott) Rogers of Eau Claire, WI; Uncles Doug Nyman of Davis and Jim (Dee) Groshans of Davis, IL; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by parents Wayne and Karen Beckmeier; Mother-in-law Shirley Williams; Grandparents William (Norma) Beckmeier and Floyd (Grace) Nyman; Aunt Carolyn Groshans; Aunt Marlene Beckmeier; Uncle Jeff Nyman, Aunt Marcia (Keith) Lentz.

There will be a visitation held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 2-5pm at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Dakota.  A service at Indian Grove Church, Rock City, IL will take place the following day, January 19, 2025 at 1:30pm.  His final resting place will be at Davis Cemetery.  A memorial has been established in his name.  Condolences can be left for the family at www.walkermortuary.com.
