Eric James "Jimmy" Pearson was surrounded by his children when God called him home on September 16, 2020 at Javon Bea Hospital. Eric was born in Freeport Illinois on December 26, 1950 to Henry Pearson and Della Mae Marrable Pearson. Eric graduated from Freeport High School. He worked at Structo as a Maintenance engineer for 20 years. Later, Eric worked as a warehouse manager at ABC Supply Warehouse, where he retired after 18 years.

Eric accepted Christ into his life at an early age. He was an avid bowler. He was a member of the NAACP, An original member of The East Side Task Force, and was partially responsible for the Flood Mediation for the East Side of Freeport. He was quite the handy man and was always busy inventing things and fixing something up. Eric also loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, extended children, family and friends.

'Jimmy' leaves behind many loved ones. Those include the love of his life and companion, Doris Gerloff, ex-wife, Windy Pearson, Elizabeth Clemon; their children Dyami (Alfreda) Pearson of Freeport, Twylah (David) Snyder of Mississippi, James Pearson of Chicago, Jasmine (Myleka Avery) Pearson of Freeport, Felicia Pearson of Freeport, and Mariah Pearson of Freeport; twelve grandchildren; six great grandchildren; his brother Marvin Pearson; his sister Paula (Michael) Jones; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Garland and Cecil; sisters Julia Dell and Jackie; and two infant children.

'Jimmy' is missed by many already. His home going will be held at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 12:00 pm, with a two hour visitation prior to service. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport, Illinois. A memorial fund will be established in his name. Condolences may be shared at www.walkermortuary.com.
