Freeport- Esther J. Allen, 96, of Freeport, died Friday, September 7, 2007, at Manor Court.
Born June 7, 1911 in Freeport she was the daughter of Christoph and Wupke (Schroeder) Dahlmer. She married William Flory June 21, 1938 and he died January 31, 1957, she married Frank Kehr May 21, 1961 and he died December 12, 1972, she married Charles Allen June 2, 1990 and he died in January of 2000.
Esther worked 15 years in accounting at W.T. Rawleigh, then with Parents Home Service Institute, and then was a teacher at First Church of the Open Bible Day Care for over 10 years.
She was a member of First Church of the Open Bible and their church council. She was past president of Women's World fellowship.
Surviving is her daughter, Donna (Terrance) Pearse; one grandson, Frank (Diane) Smith of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; one step son, John Allen of Rolling Meadows; great grandchildren; step grandchildren; step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; one daughter; 3 brothers; 4 sisters.
Funeral service will be Tuesday 11 a.m. at Walker Mortuary with Reverend Dr. Burliss Parker officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Tuesday 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the Mortuary.
