Ethel V Meyers, age 96, of Liberty Village in Freeport, IL, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 18, 2022.

Ethel Viola Meyers was born on December 12, 1925, in Mountain Lake, MN to Ernest and Jankan (Loof) Meyers.  She attended a country school in the Mountain Lake area through 8th grade after which she helped out at home and worked in the area.  She then worked as a nanny in Chicago.  While visiting relatives in Pecatonica, IL, she agreed to a blind date only because his last name was the same as hers. Loran Meyers and Ethel Meyers were married in Mountain Lake, MN on November 11, 1949.  Loran and Ethel farmed for the next 59 years in the area of Freeport, IL where they raised six children.  Ethel also was a Shaklee distributor for nearly 50 years.  In her later years, she became a prolific quilter, making beautiful quilts for all of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many others.

Loran passed away November 2, 2008 at Dakota, IL, after 59 years of marriage.  Ethel moved to Liberty Village, Freeport, IL in 2015.  She was a faithful member of the Grace Valley Christian Reformed Church for 73 years.

Ethel is survived by her 6 children and their spouses; Steve and Jan Meyers of Sioux Center, IA; Larry and Sue Meyers of Sheldon, IA; Jackie Meyers and Steve Faber of Stevens Point, WI; Les and Kelly Meyers of Gilman, IA; Rollyn and Teresa Meyers of Janesville, WI; Brenda and Dwayne Smith of Johnston, IA.  She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and a sister-in-law, Darlene Meyers of Mountain Lake MN.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers, a sister in infancy and a great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 1 ^st , 2022 from 4 to 7 pm at Grace Valley Christian Reformed Church, German Valley, IL.  A memorial and graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 2 at 10:30 am.
