Eunice E. Benning , age 92 of Davis, IL, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017 at the Medina Nursing Center in Durand, IL. She was born October 9, 1924; the daughter of the late Ralph and Emma (Lofgren) Breneman. Eunice married Merle Benning on October 7, 1951.

She graduated from Durand High School and went on to the University of Illinois. She had taught 20 years at Sycamore, Lee Center, and Dakota Schools. She was a member of the Davis Calvary UMC where she had been the church organist for many years. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Davis. She enjoyed cooking, playing bridge, and sewing, making many of her own clothes. She loved being outdoors working on her yard. She had an artistic talent for decorating and hand made many decorations throughout her home. She cherished many fond memories of the camping trips to beautiful parts of the country that she took with her husband and sons.

Eunice is survived by her husband, Merle Benning of Davis; son, Richard Benning of Davis; Grandchildren, Andrew, Laura, Kurt, and Maria Benning; and daughter-in-law, Ruth Benning of Rochester, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Carl; and sister, Marilyn.
