Freeport: Evelyn J. Krieg, 92 of Freeport, died Monday June 20, 2005 at Provena St. Joseph Center, Freeport. Born June 6, 1914 in Freeport she was the daughter of Henry and Anna (Lieber) Krieg. Evelyn was employed by Dr. John Barrett and Freeport School District #145 for many years. She was a member of Embury United Methodist Church for over 70 years. She loved serving God and held many positions at the church, including church treasurer. Evelyn especially enjoyed playing bridge with her many friends. She will be dearly missed by her niece, Marcia Murphy of East Machias, Maine, her sister Getty Krieg Mulligan of Ellsworth, Maine and her cousin, Maura Boesch of Redwing, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents. Following Evelyn's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
