Freeport-Florence A. Hille, 88, of Freeport, died Friday, April 15, 2005 at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born August 2, 1916 in Oakley Township, WI she was the daughter of Glen and Flossie (Herbert) Davis. She married Clarence E. Hille December 13, 1932 and he died June 3, 1975.
She and her husband owned and operated the Grand Canyon Restaurant from 1942 to 1958. She then ran Florence's Snack Bar at Star Bowl. She retired from Eagles Food.
She was a member of Women of the Moose and Ladies Auxiliary Fraternal Order of Eagles. Florence loved to travel. An avid golfer and bowler she was a member of Freeport Women's Bowling Association Hall of Fame and bowled in 25 national tournaments.
Surviving is her daughter, Barbara C. Nye of Freeport; 1 sister, Helen A. Meyer of Freeport; 1 daughter in-law, Darlene Hille in Richmond, KY; 1 step daughter, Mary Jane Hille of Oneco; 21 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 18 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 sons, Donald and Gerald Hille; 1 grandson, Michael Hille; 1 great great grandson, Austin Howe; 1 step son, Clarence Hille Jr.; 1 daughter in-law, Mildred Hille.
Funeral service will be Thursday 10:30 a.m. at Walker Mortuary with FHN Chaplain Don Swanson officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Wednesday 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
