Freeport- Florence M. Scheider, 96, of Freeport, died Saturday, October 21, 2006 at Freeport Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Born December 21, 1909 in Stephenson County she was the daughter of Charles and Effie (Hutmacher) Lins. She married Royal H. Scheider October 16, 1929 at Basswood M E Parsonage and he died November 8, 1989.
She was a 1927 graduate of Freeport High School.
Florence was a member of Cedarville United Methodist Church.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. An avid traveler she visited 49 states. She enjoyed sewing, socializing, and collecting antiques.
Surviving is her son, William C. (Ruth) Scheider, Sr.; 4 grandchildren, Belinda (Gary) Bender, Brenda (fiancé Timothy Lobdell) Scheider, Barbara Scheider, and William C. (Gerri) Scheider, Jr. all of Freeport; 6 great grandchildren, Nicholas, Amanda, Micki, and Misti Williams, Zachary Ackerman, and Royal W. Scheider; 4 step great grandchildren; 4 step great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral service will be Wednesday 3 p.m. at Cedarville United Methodist Church with Reverend Katie Mapes officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Tuesday 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
