Obituary

Forrest C. Rogers, 89, of Freeport, died Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at Manor Court in Freeport.
Born November 25, 1919 in Sheffield, Iowa he was the son of Joseph C. and Gertrude (DeMaris) Rogers. He married Marjorie J. Arbogast June 16, 1946 and she preceded him in death in 1987.
Forrest attended Polo schools.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1942-1945. He was in the European Theater of operations and was in the Normandy invasion until end of hostility in 1945. Forrest was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Metal along with other citations...
Forrest worked at Micro Switch for 30 years retiring in 1981.
Surviving are his daughters, Lynette (Gerald) Flack of Freeport, Cheryl (Steve) Martin of Phoenix, Arizona; 1 son David (Mary) Rogers of Freeport; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; 1 brother, Joseph Rogers; and 1 sister, Margaret J. Peterson.
Funeral service will be Monday 10:30 a.m. at Walker Mortuary with Reverend Katherine Paisley of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Sunday 2 to 5 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
