McConnell: Franklin L. Leverton, 86, of McConnell went to be with the Lord Monday September 14, 2009 at Stephenson Nursing Center, Freeport. Born January 15, 1923 at home in Oneco Township Illinois he was the son of Homer and Grace (Klontz) Leverton. On August 14, 1948 he married Betty Rummel at the English Reformed Church Parsonage in Freeport. He was educated at Basswood and McConnell Schools. Together Frank and Betty farmed for over 60 years and owned and operated the Simplicity Lawn and Garden Dealership in McConnell. Frank was also a dealer for factory built homes from 1973 - 1991. He was a Charter member of Grace Free Methodist Church, McConnell, a member of the Stephenson County Farm Bureau and former member of the Gideon's. He loved to fly and was a private pilot from the mid 1940's until 2005.
